Back in June, Anup Udai found himself weighing 90 kg and unable to fit into a lot of his own clothes. He knew things had to change, and fast. Browsing through Facebook, he came across HealthifyMe. Upon being satisfied with the app, Anup decided to take up the premium plan.

“My fitness coach Suresh encouraged me to start running 5 to 7 kilometres every day.”

Under the watchful eyes of diet coach Deepika Raghuveer and fitness coach Suresh C Pasargi, Anup set out to lose weight. In his journey towards a healthier life, he found himself a new passion. “While my main focus was to lose weight, I became passionate about running in the process,” says Anup, “It probably helped that I had friends who were marathon runners. My fitness coach Suresh too encouraged me to start running 5 to 7 kilometres every day.”

“I informed Deepika of my Navratri plan a week in advance so as to have a new diet plan prepared”

In September, it was time for Navratri and the 9 days of fasting that came with it. While most people could be forgiven for slacking off during Navratri, this wasn’t the case with Anup. Instead, he decided to take up the challenge of running 9 kilometres on each of the 9 days of Navratri. “I informed Deepika of my plan a week in advance so as to have a new diet plan prepared so that my energy levels weren’t hampered,” Anup recalls. To his delight, Deepika had a diet plan ready the very next day.

Armed with a Navratri-specific diet, and a whole lot of dedication and self-discipline, Anup set off to complete his mission. He donned the colours specified for each day of Navratri, and ran 9 kilometres on each of the 9 days. When energy levels started to drop towards the end, Anup was asked to make changes to his diet to improve hydration levels. With a few adjustments, Anup was able to achieve his goal.

“I suggest you remain patient in your weight loss journey and believe in yourself and your coaches”

Today, Anup weighs 77.5 kg. Determination, effort and guidance from his HealthifyMe coaches saw him lose 12.5 kg in 3 months. “In the last three months, my t-shirt size has gone from XL to L,” Anup beams.

“I suggest you remain patient in your weight loss journey and believe in yourself and your coaches” is the advice Anup gives anyone looking to undergo a similar transformation.

This is not the end of the road for Anup though. He refuses to quit till his weight is down to 72 kg. This Diwali, let Anup’s story be an inspiration for anyone who wishes to undergo weight loss in the festive season. Let our coaches help you start your weight loss journey.

What are GLP-1 peptides?

They are small sequences of amino acids that are secreted from cells in the small intestine and the brain. They work as physiological regulators of appetite and food intake – basically they transmit the message that the stomach is full to the brain.
